The Founders

Ray is a co-founder. He brings experience of leading, building and growing successful industrial companies in South Africa, as well as dealing with multinational clients who have complex delivery requirements. He is also a respected figure in positive transformation in Southern African independent schools.

Ray was born in Empangeni and educated at Michaelhouse, the Universities of Liverpool (MSc Operations and Supply Chain Management) and Cambridge (MSt Entrepreneurship).

Ray worked as the Personal Assistant to Clifford Elphick where he was exposed to a global family investment office with different asset classes, general finance, private equity transacting, as well as the listed space in diamond and iron ore mining. Thereafter alongside Clifford and Bheka Masinga, he co-founded and was the Managing Director of a coal supply business that supplied product to Sasol in their Secunda Market. 

 Ray also set up his own family investment office (CARGRO) with interests in the private equity and supply chain management industries where he is currently the CEO.

Sean is a co-founder. He brings experience of managing & building successful technology companies in the cybersecurity and counter threat industries. He is also a thought leader in Southern African independent school sustainability.

Sean was born in Durban and educated at Michaelhouse and Rhodes University (BA Psychology) before attending the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK in 1998.  

Sean served as an officer in the British Army for 8 years completing operational tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. His specialisation was strategic communications.

Sean retired from the Army in 2006 and worked in Kuwait and London in the logistics and private security industries before co-founding Torchlight in 2011 (now TAG International) which provided counter threat as well as capacity building and capability development around the world on behalf of the UK Government. 

Sean co-founded CybSafe in 2016, a cyber security awareness technology company and served as its COO. Sean stepped back from his executive role at CybSafe when he sold Torchlight in 2021.
